FAMILY FUN

For the past couple of weeks we have been learning all about families in our Kindergarten class. We have talked about families throughout our curriculum including Bible where we learned about the very first family Adam and Eve and their children Cain and Abel.

We even found out our numbers live in families too. WHAT? Numbers have families? I know right! I love seeing the students' faces when I tell them the numbers have a father.

We learned how much families love one another and how God gave each family member a different role to serve. They really enjoyed bringing in their family pictures and telling the class about their family. It was a special time for them.

We also did an "All About Me" glyph and they created a "self portrait" to show some of the similarities and differences that we have in our families and we got to learn a little about them as well. They were very proud of their "mini me's".

First Day Jitters

So Meet the Teacher went well and I think everyone was excited about coming back to school. Tomorrow is officially the first day of school. I can't believe it!

Tomorrow, will begin a nine month journey with 15 kindergartens that is sure to be filled with singing, dancing, laughing, crying, and lots and lots of learning. I am most excited about sharing the word of God with these little ones and getting to know each and every one of them. They will not become just "my students" but "my babies" and I know we are going to have a fantastic year.

We will probably have lots of tears from both kids and parents tomorrow, but that's ok. I perfectly understand! I know I will be fighting back tears as I wave good-bye to my own children tomorrow. It's just first day jitters and our emotions get the best of us!  I hope all my kiddos' used their jitter glitter to help them sleep through the night and come in feeling fresh and bright. I probably should have made a special bag for mom and dad too.  (Just another one of my pinterest projects)

It is very important to me that my kids know that I love them and Jesus loves them too! It's going to be a great year and I look forward to what this year holds for us.

B@cK 2 SChOOl

B@cK 2 SChOOl
So  summer vacation is over and it is time to get back to school. I really am excited about the upcoming year! I will be teaching K-5 this year and will be working with some awesome ladies. I am definitely going to miss my little ones (K-3) and my co-teacher from last year, but I will still get to see them and talk to them throughout the school year. So that does make it better.

The last week and a half I have been working on getting my classroom ready for Meet the Teacher which is tomorrow. Meet the Teacher for me is kind of like the night before Christmas; I am just overwhelmed with excitement and can't wait to see which children God has given to me. It's like I can't wait to open them up and see what they can do. I can honestly say that I also get a little anxious and want to make sure everything is as perfect as it can be when they walk through my classroom door for the first time. I want them to feel a sense of welcome and love.

I know this is going to be a GREAT year!

Here are a few pictures of my K-5 class that is all ready (well as ready as can be... it's always hard for me to find a stopping point) waiting for it's little learners.
